A connected reference library

Vector brings together defence drone profiles, companies, sectors, enabling technologies and a growing news archive. Profiles are maintained independently and display their own review dates. Related reporting appears automatically where an editor links the relevant subjects.

How we use evidence

We prioritise public operator, government, programme-authority and manufacturer sources. A supplier’s statement records a claim; it is not an independent performance test. Government accounts also reflect the reporting institution’s perspective.

Development, testing, orders, delivery and operational service are separate milestones. Specifications and status do not automatically transfer between variants. News briefings distinguish what happened, editorial interpretation and what an announcement actually establishes.

The editorial team

The organisation byline identifies material published by Defence Drones. Research and drafting may be AI-assisted. A source-review date records an evidence check, not a claim of independent expert validation. Named authors and reviewers appear only when their details have been supplied.

Corrections and updates

Send a sourced correction for editorial review. Accepted changes are published with an update note; private drafts and editorial notes stay private. Browse recent library updates or follow the RSS feed.

Publishing and revisions

New material is prepared as a draft and reviewed before publication. Editors record sources and review dates. Draft revisions stay separate from the published page until approved for publication. The “updated” date records publication changes; the source publication date refers to the original announcement.

Coverage expands through editorial publishing. It is not an automatic news feed. Historical stories remain dated records; newer information belongs in subsequent coverage and reviewed reference pages.

Coverage and independence

The scope includes aerial drones, uncrewed ground vehicles, uncrewed surface vessels, autonomous and remotely operated underwater vehicles, and adjacent support systems. Remote operation and autonomy are distinguished within each profile. Coverage is representative and continues to expand across domains, countries, manufacturers and operators. Inclusion is not an endorsement or a market-share ranking.

The initial library was assembled with AI-assisted research and original summaries. Ongoing additions require editorial review. Vector is independent of the organisations featured and includes no sponsored placements or affiliate purchase links.

Privacy

Reading requires no Vector account and the site includes no analytics scripts. Publishing uses ChatGPT sign-in and a restricted editor allowlist. Editorial revisions record the authenticated editor’s identifier. Correction submissions require ChatGPT sign-in to limit abuse. They store the report, supplied source URL and account identifier for editorial handling; they do not publish your identity. Do not submit sensitive personal information. Source links lead to external organisations with their own policies.
