Evidence & current status
Historically documented development programme. The same 2015 catalogue gives both 4 m and 3 m wingspans; no single value is selected. Current acceptance is unresolved.
Hungwe is Denel Dynamics' smaller surveillance-aircraft programme. CSIR's 2013/14 annual report describes work on the cranked-wing airframe concept and its potential for territorial observation. Denel's subsequent catalogue presents a portable surveillance system, while the company's 2016/17 programme review still describes Hungwe as under development.
These records establish a real programme and a proposed product configuration, but they do not settle its present production or customer-acceptance status. The historical development label is retained with an explicit date limitation: it is not a claim that the same development programme remains active and funded in 2026. Proposed military, border-security and wildlife-monitoring applications likewise do not establish actual operators.
The published catalogue contains an internal wingspan inconsistency, so this profile does not select one dimension as authoritative. The remaining performance figures are dated supplier claims and should not be merged with Seeker 200 or Seeker 400 data. A current configuration sheet, flight-test record or named customer acceptance would allow the entry to advance from historical programme coverage to a verified contemporary fleet record.
