Evidence & current status
Current 3000 and 6000 sheet figures are configuration-specific. The 4500 is verified historically; current dedicated specifications and named military customer configurations remain incomplete.
The base HUGIN family comprises deep-water survey AUVs developed for commercial, scientific and defence applications. These vehicles gather several kinds of seabed and environmental information in one deployment. They are autonomous underwater vehicles; an acoustic supervision link is not a physical tether or a continuous high-bandwidth video connection.
The current HUGIN 3000 sheet describes a smaller body and lower energy capacity than the HUGIN 6000 sheet. Their endurance figures are quoted at three knots with sensors operating, making them a better comparison baseline than a general family headline. The 6000 is offered with different survey and scientific packages, so depth rating alone does not identify its sensor fit. The older HUGIN 4500 is also documented in Kongsberg's commercial delivery history, but this review did not obtain an equally current dedicated specification for it.
HUGIN's documented commercial use is separate from military acceptance of a particular customer configuration. This record therefore adds the base models without duplicating HUGIN Superior or HUGIN Endurance. Battery upgrades, sensor selection and software changes explain why older and newer HUGIN documents should remain dated rather than combined into one apparently universal specification.
