Evidence & current status
Public specifications are attributed to the cited sources. Advertised limits are not assumed to occur simultaneously.
REMUS 300 is HII’s small modular autonomous underwater vehicle for survey, search and naval sensing. It is an untethered platform with acoustic communications and a configurable sensor package. The US Navy’s Lionfish programme is built on this platform, while other customers procure REMUS 300 under their own requirements.
The manufacturer’s sheet explicitly separates three battery configurations. A compact vehicle offers a shorter mission duration, while the extended-energy version is longer and heavier. The advertised thirty-hour maximum therefore must not be paired with the mass of the smallest vehicle. The endurance and range table specifies three knots with standard sensors active.
HII documents Royal New Zealand Navy deliveries in 2022 and further Royal Navy procurement in 2024. These relationships are stronger evidence than a product exhibition, but do not disclose every delivered payload. Current website and sheet speed wording also differ; the table preserves the sheet’s standard baseline rather than assuming that a later headline applies to all vehicles.
