Evidence & current status
Procurement and integration are documented by the supplier. The maximum duration and range require their stated energy configuration and cannot be combined with minimum mass.
REMUS 620 is HII’s medium-class autonomous underwater vehicle, designed around interchangeable batteries and wet or dry payload modules. It supports hydrographic survey, mine-countermeasures sensing and other maritime information-gathering tasks. Its larger hull and energy provision distinguish it from the portable REMUS 300.
HII’s current sheet shows why a single headline endurance is insufficient. The one-battery base configuration is substantially shorter and lighter than the three-battery version associated with the maximum duration. A published sonar-equipped example has a different length, mass and endurance again. The catalogue uses the one-battery base as its dimensional reference and qualifies the family maximum separately.
The company records an Indo-Pacific customer sale in March 2024 and describes later submarine integration milestones. Those events establish procurement and testing, not a complete operational fleet inventory. Publicly demonstrated integration should also not be extended to every potential deployment platform listed in marketing material. REMUS 620 is kept separate from the preceding REMUS 600 and programme-specific military variants.
