Evidence & current status

Operational status and performance are attributed to a wartime operator. The source does not support a complete independently verified specification or a common configuration for all Sea Baby craft.

Sea Baby is the surface-drone programme associated with Ukraine's Security Service, known as the SBU. It is separate from the MAGURA family operated by defence intelligence. Public statements describe continuing changes in hulls, propulsion and mission equipment, so the name should be read as an evolving programme rather than a single production specification.

On 22 October 2025 the SBU displayed a newer generation and stated that updated boats had already been used in the Black Sea. The announcement reported a larger range and payload than earlier public descriptions. Those figures are attributed to the operator, not treated as independently measured performance or assigned retrospectively to older boats.

The source also displayed different equipment configurations, confirming that mission fits vary. It did not publish a complete naval-architecture data sheet or identify every industrial supplier. This profile consequently preserves gaps in dimensions, displacement and endurance instead of deriving them from photographs. Surface Sea Baby is also distinct from separately named underwater projects; an underwater vehicle should receive its own domain and record.
