Evidence & current status
Manufacturer claims are distinguished from procurement and acceptance evidence; undisclosed figures have not been estimated.
YAKTU is a small uncrewed surface-vessel programme presented by STM at SAHA Expo in May 2026. The company positions it within an expanding maritime autonomy portfolio alongside its underwater vehicles. Its design uses a compact hull and waterjet propulsion, with published performance figures intended to describe a fast surface craft rather than an underwater system.
The manufacturer's announcement identifies a one-way mission concept. That role is recorded at a high level here; the profile does not reproduce employment instructions or payload construction information. Public product dimensions and propulsion information provide a useful configuration reference, while customer identity, production quantities and acceptance milestones remain unestablished in the reviewed evidence.
YAKTU's advertised maximum speed is distinct from its service-speed range figure. The stated range therefore should not be interpreted as achievable at the headline top speed or under every loading and sea condition. Its May 2026 debut is evidence that STM publicly announced the platform, rather than evidence of a delivered fleet. Future revisions should prioritise dated sea-trial results, customer contracts and clear descriptions of the configuration to which performance claims apply.
