Evidence & current status
Unreported specifications and model-specific operator acceptance remain explicit uncertainties.
SeaRaptor is the larger deep-water member of Teledyne Gavia's underwater vehicle range. It is designed to carry several survey instruments and collect seabed and water-column data over extended missions. The manufacturer includes it in its defence portfolio for applications such as search, survey and infrastructure observation, while also documenting commercial customers. Those two uses should remain visible rather than treating a commercial purchase as naval acceptance.
A May 2021 announcement identifies two 6,000-metre vehicles procured by the Norwegian survey company Argeo. The stated configuration included synthetic-aperture sonar, multibeam and sub-bottom instruments, cameras and environmental sensors, supported by containerised handling equipment. That order provides a concrete customer and payload reference.
Later defence literature advertises a higher maximum endurance than the earlier Argeo announcement. This profile retains the Argeo baseline for quantified duration instead of combining later energy claims with an older vehicle fit. Battery arrangement, active sensor load and mission speed all matter. The public evidence supports a real product and customer procurement; a named naval operator and its exact SeaRaptor configuration remain unconfirmed here.
