Evidence & current status
Family military use is based on manufacturer statements and a named exercise account. Base-platform figures must not be carried across to BARKAN 2 or BARKAN 3. The June 2026 EFES account was rechecked on 21 September 2026: it does not establish BARKAN-3 acceptance or justify borrowing the base-platform data.
BARKAN is HAVELSAN's modular ground-robot family for observation, equipment transport, casualty movement and specialist mission packages. The base platform is distinct from its armed, manipulator-equipped and sensor configurations. Remote control and autonomous driving functions are both advertised, with the actual level of assistance dependent on the installed vehicle and software version.
HAVELSAN states that the family entered the Turkish military inventory in 2023 and announced a series-production decision in May 2025. Its report on EFES 2026 describes BARKAN-2 participation in casualty-evacuation scenarios, providing a concrete exercise-use example. These milestones support family-level military use while leaving quantities and individual delivery batches subject to further verification.
In May 2026, the company introduced BARKAN 3 as a next-generation configuration and continued development was described in subsequent reporting. That version should not inherit every earlier vehicle's acceptance status or specifications. The numeric rows below identify the base BARKAN offering on the current product page. They are not a data sheet for BARKAN 2 or 3, which require separate configuration records as better evidence becomes available.
