How to understand it
Satellite navigation is one input, not the whole navigation system. An aircraft may combine its own motion measurements, visual information and other available references to estimate where it is. Different approaches carry different assumptions about what the aircraft can observe and how uncertain its position may become.
What to look for in the evidence
- Ask what environment a demonstration used and whether the conditions match the advertised claim.
- Distinguish automatic stability and obstacle avoidance from navigation over a full mission.
- Treat “resilient” as a claim requiring evidence, rather than a synonym for immunity.
THE CAPABILITY QUESTION
The relevant capability is dependable navigation within stated conditions. A technology label alone does not describe those conditions.
