Evidence & current status
Identification and specification are attributed to Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence. Captured-airframe evidence is stronger than a promotional claim, but one specimen does not establish every production variant or an independently verified fleet size.
Role & programme
Russian-produced derivatives of the Iranian Shahed-136 design. Changes in production and mission equipment make Geran-2 a family rather than a single frozen specification.
GUR documents several recovered configurations, including newer mission-equipment changes. The original Iranian Shahed-136 has a separate entry to keep design origin distinct from Russian production. Numbers attached to one recovered series or an early Iranian baseline should not automatically be assigned to every Geran-2. The public record does not provide one universal current specification.
